height=&#8221;30px&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The &#8216;Fondazione Bianca Ballabio&#8217; springs from the commitment of devoted parents Michela and Massimo to perpetuate the memory of their much beloved, lovely only daughter Bianca.<br \/>\nBianca was twenty years old in 2019\/2020 enrolled on her first year of Medical studies at the Medicine and Chirurgy University. On the 27th July, 2020 she completed all her exams ahead of the faculty year&#8217;s end after a long period of tireless and determined study. All attained during the global Corona Virus pandemic.<br \/>\nBianca loved learning. Her overriding passion was for medicine&#8217;s welfare of others at the Medical Faculty she had chosen. With her own perseverance, personal commitment and determination to study and give she loved her vocation within the whole Faculty.<br \/>\nTragically, five days after her last university exam, Bianca was the innocent victim of an accident caused by a car driver. Transferred by helicopter, in a coma, to the San Gerardo Hospital of Monza her battle for life would last nine days. On 11th August, 2020 Bianca died.<br \/>\nWe, Bianca&#8217;s parents, Michela and Massimo, believe the first act Bianca would have wished for was that her organs be donated to help others. This was done.<br \/>\nBianca was a straight forward, natural, open, happy young lady, always to be heard singing, with a bright smile for everybody. The winners, if not unable, will publicly share the results of their journey, presenting them during an annual event dedicated to Bianca&#8217;s memory, where her values and commitment will be celebrated.<br \/>\n<strong>In addition to this initiative, the Foundation develops a capillary and rigorously planned medical and social intervention model: each project is selected based on scientific and territorial impact criteria, and entrusted to local partners \u2013 university research centers, hospital facilities and specialized training hubs \u2013 chosen for their proven management transparency.<\/strong><b> Funding is tied to specific objectives: upgrading of university laboratories, initiation of specialized training pathways, purchase of diagnostic or training equipment. The award was granted to Dr. Giordano Spacco, a resident at the University of Genoa (Diabetology, Gaslini Hospital). The 2025 award was presented to Dr. Giulia Soggia, who graduated with 110 cum laude and a special mention. This edition was made possible thanks to the generous donation from the Rotary Club Busto, Gallarate, Legnano &#8220;La Malpensa&#8221;. commitment of devoted parents Michela and Massimo to perpetuate the memory of their much beloved, lovely only daughter Bianca. Bianca was twenty years old in 2019\/2020 enrolled on her first year of Medical studies at the Medicine and Chirurgy University. On the 27th July, 2020 she completed all her exams ahead of the faculty year&#8217;s end after a long period of tireless and determined study. All attained during the global Corona Virus pandemic. Bianca loved learning. Her overriding passion was for medicine&#8217;s welfare of others at the Medical Faculty she had chosen. With her own perseverance, personal commitment and determination to study and give she loved her vocation within the whole Faculty. Tragically, five days after her last university exam, Bianca was the innocent victim of an accident caused by a car driver. Transferred by helicopter, in a coma, to the San Gerardo Hospital of Monza her battle for life would last nine days. On 11th August, 2020 Bianca died. We, Bianca&#8217;s parents, Michela and Massimo, believe the first act Bianca would have wished for was that her organs be donated to help others. This was done. Bianca was a straight forward, natural, open, happy young lady, always to be heard singing, with a bright smile for everybody. She loved her life. Her premature death leaves a huge void which necessitates something key she would be proud of to help others &#8211; Medicine &#8211; her first love after family and friends. It is with this shared passion that, we, Bianca&#8217;s loving parents have worked to create and donate &#8216;Fondazione Bianca Ballabio&#8217; to help others as she would have wished. Bianca, a passionate student of Medicine, enthusiastically cultivated her desire to become a doctor and was deeply interested in travel and cultural exchanges, experiences that she had already begun to experience despite her young age. The Foundation therefore aims to promote cross-cultural educational exchanges in the field of Medical Sciences, offering financial and organizational support to Medical students, young doctors, residents and researchers. Through annual scholarships, selected candidates will be able to further their education at Universities, Hospitals or Research Institutes abroad.
